About Amanda
Amanda Carman, CPA
As a CPA, I strive for exceptional service. I pride myself on fostering a collaborative environment where questions are welcome. I believe that building personal relationships with my clients help create an open environment for sharing private personal and financial data.
Education
A native of Atlanta, I graduated from North Georgia College and State University, the Military College of Georgia, in 2002 with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. I became licensed CPA in February 2005. I received the CGMA certification shortly after 2009.
Experience
Before starting my own firm, I worked for seven years with a large regional CPA firm, specializing in federal and state corporate, partnership and individual tax compliance. While with the firm, I realized that the relationships with clients and others throughout the business community were the most enjoyable aspect of my job. At the same time, I also recognized that the large-firm billing structure kept me from working with many of the small businesses and individuals I wanted to help most.
In 2009, I started my own practice and I now focus on business and individual tax preparation, consulting, and planning. As a certified QuickBooks Pro, I offer additional services to help clients maintain the integrity of their accounting data and teach them to use it effectively to make solid business decisions.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. Joel and I live in Smyrna, Georgia and spend a lot of time in Nashville, TN, where our son attends college. I previously served as a board member for the Georgia Society of CPA’s and remain a member at large. I am also an Alumni of the Leadership Academy of the Georgia Society of CPAs.
