FAQs about Outsourcing
Why am I outsourcing?
My services are in great demand and firm growth has pushed capacity to the limits. The economic and political fall-out due to the lingering effects of a global pandemic have fueled constant change in tax legislation and law. To maintain the highest levels of service and commitment to my clients, I am outsourcing the data entry of the tax preparation process. Outsourcing will shorten the turn-around time for data entry during the busiest time of the filing season. This will allow me to focus on the quality of each return and increase efficiency.
What am I outsourcing?
I am only outsourcing the initial data entry component of the individual income tax returns.
Who is Xpitax?
Xpitax is a U.S. based company founded by a CPA who wanted to grow his practice and maintain a balanced quality of life. Xpitax is a division of CCH Wolters-Kluwer. CCH Wolters-Kluwer has provided my firm with tax software for more than 15 years. They are the industry standard. Xpitax has been providing staffing for accounting firms of all sizes for more than 20 years. CCH now owns Xpitax.
Xpitax utilizes both domestic and international resources.
Who is responsible for my tax return?
Amanda L. Carman, CPA & Associates, LLC is ultimately responsible for the preparation and filing of your income tax returns as I have always been. My internal processes are nearly unchanged. I will always review and sign your returns.
How does this process work?
My process is virtually unchanged. I will collect your tax information, scan it into my processing software, and assign the return to a data entry preparer. The assignee will be an internal preparer or outsourced preparer depending on volume and complexity of the return. When data entry is complete, I will review the return and communicate questions and concerns directly with you as I always have; this process will never be outsourced. Once finalized, I will publish your copy of the return to the portal for your review along with instructions to complete the return. No part of that process has changed.
Will I be contacted by the Xpitax team?
No, you will never be contacted by the Xpitax team. All communication will come from me, as they always have.
Is my data secure?
Yes! Your data is stored on a data server in the U.S. and is only accessible in “read only” mode by the preparer. If you have more questions about Xpitax security protocols, let me know and I will send you more information.
